IDES Mission Trip: April 7

CCCH has an opportunity to help the community of Watseka, Illinois after their major flooding. Volunteers are needed!!!!!!!

IDES ( International Disaster Emergency Service ) is mobilizing another shipment of 10 sheds to flood stricken Watseka, Illinois on April 6, and the build date will be April 7, hoping to complete all 10. We will start at 7:30 AM and work until about 4:30 PM. Watseka is about a hour and 40 min drive. We will be working with the Centennial Christian Church in Watseka. (720 South 3rd Street, Watseka, IL)

Carpool: We will be leaving CCCH no later than 5:45 AM on Saturday morning. We will meet at CCCH at 5:30 AM.

Lunch will be supplied by the Church in Watseka.

Tools: The church in Watseka will have some tools. However, IF you can bring any tools that you might use for an outdoor carpentry project, like tool belts, hammers, nail guns, air compressors, cordless screw gun, levels, tape measures, chopsaw’s, etc.

Directions to the worksite: Watseka, Illinois is 99 miles from here. It takes an hour and 40 minutes. Take I 80 to interstate 57, go south on interstate 57 to Highway 24, Chenoa exit turn east on Highway 24 and you will come right into town.

What to Wear: Dress according to the weather. It is recommend you weasr boots or strong tennis shoes, long pants or bluejeans, several layers warm shirts and a coat. (IF Cold ).Leather work gloves are important, but we will have plenty of extra pairs along.
